Work Experience

UROP Character Animator, University of Hawaii at Manoa
(May 2023 - August 2023)

Focusing on preserving Native Hawaiian moʻolelo(stories) through character design. This project was a collaboration with Kumu Matthew Kainoa Wong, based on the story "Ke Kumu ʻUlu Mua Loa" and was meant to reignite interest in Hawaiian heritage in a contemptorary art form.

Software Engineer Internship, US Army: 25th Combat Aviation Brigade Hawai'i
(August 2022 - November 2022)

Capstone project working with sponsor Major Curtis Bew to create a scheduler interface for their rotary wing aircraft. Specifically, working in Javascript, HTML/CSS, and Bootstrap-React in collaboration with fellow students to gain experience with schedulers and UX design.

UROP Gorey Assistant - Special Projects, University of Hawaii at Manoa: Hamilton Library
(June 2022 - August 2022)

Research Paper and Exhibit Project about artist/writer Edward Gorey. This summer project was both collaborative in our exhibits and independent work for our research papers. Activities

Participant, Hawaiians in Technology & Purple Mai'a Hackathon 2022

Joined to learn more about Mo'okū'auhau and how geneology can relate to our current day Native Hawaiian Software Engineers. Here our goal was to communicate ideas for developing this geneology software while also culturally rooting computer science and Hawaiian culture.

Participant, Summer Undergraduate Research Experience Symposium

Poster presentation at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa's Summer Undergraduate Research Experience Symposium where we presented our research on Edward Gorey. Learning to organize and improve our communication and presentating skills through collaboration.

Computer Lab Assistant, Kalihi Kai Elementary School

Volunteered to work with Elementary students to use computers for Math programs. Here I helped communicate problems and solve issues while helping the kids.
